What am I looking at?

So I started taking apart the mini fridge for an incubator, one of my Leo's is knocked up! Was wondering if I could possibly save the fan in there and wondering how to make it safe and take it apart.[IMG][/IMG][IMG][/IMG][IMG][/IMG]

Looks like a DC fan.

You can save this but it will take a few modifications to make it work.

1. remove the heat sink that it is attached to. try to keep the black plastic mounting bracket so you can just put it back into place.

2. Find an AC-DC transformer that matches the voltage and is higher than the amperage listed on the fan.


So here is how everything will be configured: The wall plug goes into the transformer, then you can either wire the output of the transformer directly to the fan or put a rotary style lamp dimmer inbetween the transformer output and the fan if you want to control the fan speed.
