    DIY incubators

I'm trying to find a glass front frig. to make an incubator with. I looked on Craigslist and don't see any. Has anyone here found one at coca cola dist. Or appliance service place or any where else.

Craigslist search ~ true cooler or commercial fridge.
Sometimes the distributors will let them go but generally they just recycle the real bad ones.

Are you looking for a full size glass front fridge or just a glass front enclosure regardless of size. There are many wine coolers on CL that are about 5+ cubic ft. They will probable do 6 to 8 egg boxes just fine if converted properly. You should be able to pick one up for $50 or less. I got mine for $30 and hatched a first clutch in August.

A small one actually I doubt if I'll ever have more than two or three clutches at one time. Where did you look on Craigslist to find them and what were the keywords? Thanks

Just go to the main page and type in wine cooler in the search space and see what comes up. You can also post a wanted add for a wine cooler. That may help since you can also post that you don't even need it to work. Some one may have one just sitting there that they haven't thrown out yet. Here is the one I made. There are a ton in the Atlanta CL which is where I got mine. I live in Lawrenceville, GA.

    Good Luck.

if you have any liquidation outlets around you i'd go check them out. the one in my town had a couple refrigerators that didn't work for sale for like 10 bucks.
