Just in Case of an Emergency....

I am relatively new to snake owning and I want to know what to do if for some reason my electricity goes out. I live in the Chicago area so it can get quite cold during the winter season. My main concern if it is the winter season is heat. Although there could be other issues, something happening to the water pipes (would probably buy bottled water), or any other event that doesn't hit me right now.

So what are some good things to do in case of emergencies?

    Thanks for the help. ^^

It is hard I break it down to short term solutions and long term ones. My short term solutions are chemical heat packs this will provide quick easy heat for a while I have 48 and 72 hour heat packs. After these start to cool I have a catalytic heater fuelled by propane I have a 25 lbs tank and 6 cylinders that I can use to provide heat for my reptile room for a week or so. This is my strategy sadly it all hinges on me being available it is not automatic.

You can get those hand warmer heat packs, but you'll have to wrap them in towels as they get way too warm by themselves and could burn your reptiles.
