Probe Placement for Room Heater?

With it getting cooler I want to add a room heater to bump the temp a bit in what has turned into my snake room. I know most of yall recommend the oil filled heater with a ranco / Johnson tstat.

What I wanted to know is where/how did you put the tstat probe?

Put a hook on the ceiling and let it dangle in the center of the rooom

Yeah you can kind of see ours dangling from the ceiling in this pic. The heater has its own built in tstat though. This one is just a backup.

Hanging down in the middle of the room probably 6 feet from the ground.
