    what is a feeder animal

    received a email from a man who wants to know if using dog or cats for food is ok . he claims that he only uses road kill .ask him why he responded it was free ask about parasites said was not worried .then he went on to say that there was a kill shelter in his home town who gave him all the dead dogs and cats he could use. as him if he ever got any off Craig list he said no but im not sure .do you think this is legal or is he breaking some law are dog and cats a good food source i have never thought about them as food his argument is that they are dead and will be thrown outany way how should i respond

    Laws like that(if any) are all location based. Talk to your local police and/or animal control office. Both phone numbers should be easy to find. Just don't call 911 to ask a question. They don't like that.

    No this is not acceptable legal or not. It has such a negative impact on the hobby that on that alone it is a no. The answer is they are not correct nutrition and as many snakes imprint on prey items it is a bad idea. They animals raised for food are the best options feeder rodents, mice, rats, rabbits, asf ect. not domestic pets.
