Nothing compares to the joy you feel when your ball python eats! (swithing from live)

So I got my first ball python last Friday and she finally decided to eat today! She's a hatchling (166 grams, 2 months old.) I had 2 other feeding attempts before this but 3rd times a charm! She struck at the rat (f/t) in about 5 seconds! I'm ecstatic because I heard a lot of people have some trouble switching from live to f/t but this young lady had no problem! I couldn't snap a picture (I bolted out of the room when she latched on).
Anyone else remember their first ball python taking its first meal? :>

That is cool that the switch happened so easy. You never know with Bp's. Some switch right away, some never switch over.

Yeah she didn't eat f/t the first 2 times but the third time she just gobbled it up :> I guess I got "lucky"
But I guess my excitement also stems from the fact that she's my first snake!

My very first ball python was a rescue. I had been keeping cornsnakes for almost a year and I had a friend call me and ask me to go pick up this ball python. When she ate (I didn't have rats so she got what mice I already had in my freezer) I was thrilled because I didn't want her to deteriorate and die! Then, when I got her eating consistently, I fed her a F/T rat and she gobbled it up! She's gained about 120g in the last 2 and a half months and I couldn't be more excited! She might just be a normal, but she is by far my favorite of my entire snake collection.

It always makes me wonder why people treat their pets so badly. I knew one lady that tried to feed LETTUCE to her snake. I'm glad you got to rescue that snake

Lettuce Oi. My rescue was 44g and they said she was 6 months old...She had a completely stuck shed, she was dehydrated, and she was very very thin (as you can see). She was going to just dump her outside and let her fend for herself. Some people... I just don't understand!
