Hey guys, what do you think of the animal plastics economy rack? Are they worth it? Anyone out there have one and like it, or dislike it. Let me know

    Re: Animal plastics economy rack

Hi, I have three Iris CB70 style 5 high. Great product for a great price. I have no issues with them at all. The heat tape is much easier to install or replace compared to the fully closed style racks. They are much lighter obviously and easier to move around and clean. I have no problems keeping temps up along with humidity.

Anything else you are curious about just let me know

I had an economy rack for a few years, great rack great price. I liked mine a lot. I only sold it since I'm only working with Rhacs and they don't really use the style of rack I had.

I use them for my hatchling BP (6 quarts tub racks) and I have a 41 quarts rack as well for my colubrids I like them, for my adult BP however I like the enclosed ones better as they provide more security.

The important things with those is to make sure that your room is not too cold if it is the enclosed rack should be the one you go with.

Bottom line you can't go wrong with animal plastics.

I have an adult AP economy rack. Love it, would totally buy from them again. It's some work to assemble, but very sturdy when it's together. And it looks pretty good, too.

Can't speak from personal experience, but I saw 2 economy racks at AP's booth at Tinley. They were MUCH better in person than the picture they show on the website. After seeing them and talking with AP's rep about them, I'd have no hesitation getting one in the future.

As Deborah said though, you just have to make sure your room doesn't get too cool as the economy racks aren't as well insulated as the regular enclosed rack style. Other than that, they should be just as functional - and if you provide 2 hides, the snakes should be ok as far as security too.
