    Good setup for a blood?

Hi I am going to be getting an AP T8 for my baby ball (yes I know it's too big; going to get a divider and move it as he grows) and I was wondering if I could do this for a blood since they are stackable? Also what temps do you keep your bloods at? Thanks in advance!!

Oh and if you don't know the measurements for a T8 it's 48x24x12

    A T8 should be fine

The temperatures for bloods are pretty much the same as BP's. 80 cool side 90 hot. They do need slightly more humidity than balls do though.

Cool....think I could keep them on the same t-stat? Also would you recommend lamps, flexwatt, or both? They would be in a room that stays about 70 give or take a few

I wouldn't ever use heat lamps with a T8, Flexwatt and/or a Radiant Heat Panel is the way to go.

You can run multiple cages off of a single thermostat but there is risk to it (only 1 heat source is being measured by the thermostat. This completely circumvents every safety feature on modern thermostats) I can say from experience that all of my T8 stacked are set to different temperatures to achieve the same 90 degree internal hot side temperature.

Ok so would the flexwatt only be enough? Do radiant heat panels affect ambient temps? And ok sounds like my best bet is a herpstat 2 then?

It should be. Make sure that the T8 has the Fluorescent lights installed that AP sells, they will help to keep the cage temperature up.

I would highly recommend a herpstat 2 for this set up.

Ok cool.....but do you think there would be another way to bump the ambient temps? They will be in my room and I hate sleeping with light ......but if I have to I can I have two heat lamps on my current snakes lol

I don't run my lights at night, they stay on a 12 hour on/off cycle. The beauty of PVC cages is that they hold heat in really well. Temps might fall a few degrees but nothing drastic

Oh and while I'm thinking of it, would the 11 inch flexwatt they can include with the T8 be enough?
