    Aspen in tubs

For those of you who use aspen in tubs, is there any risk of burning the belly on the flexwatt? Thinking of switching over, because paper towels are adding up and just don't seem to fit right for me anymore.

Surely there's no difference? They can get under the paper towels as well as moving the aspen and contacting with the bottom? Or am I missing something?

Preventing burns is not about the bedding its about having a reliable thermostat.

If you don't have a thermostat it does not matter what bedding you are using your animal will be burned and so your house will likely burned down too if flexwatt is left uncontrolled.

I do have a thermostat, I just didn't know if getting right on the plastic over the flexwatt would be bad.

My hide on the warm side holds the paper towels down so they cannot be directly on the plastic currently.
