Broke as not being able to fulfill my obligations such as mortgage, insurance, car payment and other daily expenses? Of course not.

Now have I spend a lot of money to get into this YES but its money that I can afford to spend.

Anyone who would go broke paying for a BP didn't setup their payment plan right or probably shouldn't be getting it in the first place. The cost of owning a snake goes beyond initial cost and I hope people consider that before they think of going broke paying for one.

That being said, there have been times where I setup payment plans that cut into my spending money, but I don't consider not eating out for a little while as being broke.

I picture someone in the fetal position clutching a tub containing their newly acquired Tiger Coral Glow Pair and a case of ramen noodles... Just 3 years and it'll all pay off...!

But no, I wouldn't willingly go broke for anything. =)

bills, then house hold items ( like tp, paper towels, soap, and food) then I would consider a another snake. my issue right now being a wedding ( 2 months baby) and my rodent farm not recovering from a dye out during the heat . I am hoping to replace them soon after the wedding and start a fresh colony.

Being a college student and just purchasing my first BP along with everything that goes with it, i guess you could say im "broke" meaning i cant really eat out for a while or do activities like that. But i am making money and still have more than enough money in my accounts for me and to cover future snake expenses. im just broke in the sense that i have to live frugal for a while

Re: Would you go BROKE BUYING A BP?

I have a wife and kids, so going broke due to snakes is not an option. That being said, I have spent a lot of money on them. Like someone else said, that is money that I could afford to spend. I would get no joy in having a lot of snakes and living on the street.
