    Feeding day..first attempt at feeding my new ones...advice please

    My three new additions are getting fed for the first tine tonight....my queation is this..they were all on live hoppers qith the breeder....i can't get those....could they handle a small adult mouse or woild a fuzzy wiggly rat pup be better...

    If there's holes in their tubs I would leave the feeder right outside their tub for about 30-45 mins. I have found that to get them in feeding mode. They should be able to take rat pinks.

    Trying the fuzzy rat pups....two have their eyes open and are slightly bigger than the third...for my fires they are both a little bigger than my mojave girl....very wiggly these pups are. Pray for me..last week was hell wirh my sub adults....and first time feesing little ines...lerd hep meh

    Izzy they are in tanks at the moment...any suggestions for that?

    If its a screen top or have vent holes place the pups right outside those for a while and keep the area dark and quiet. Giving babies the feeling of security while feeding is important. Plus allowing them to taste the air while feeling secure usually gets them in the mood to eat.

    Mike.....the are on eco earth.... should i be worried abour them ingesting that? I normally and have always moved to tubs to feed...which i know is not everyones choice.....

    I usually keep my babies on paper towel. Then again I always use racks to house them which works with the tubs.

    Not at all. Feed them right in the enclosure. They'll be fine no problem.

    I dont pre-scent like Izzy does. I would literally just drop the rats into the enclosure near wherever the snakes are in there.
