    Best States/Regions to Buy?

Just curious what the regional prices for balls is like.

I'm assuming a lot of the good deals are in Florida since that's where the biggest expo is at and that's where a lot of the ships are unloaded.

I'm also assuming major metropolitan areas are probably a little easier.

For the most part prices in the US are fairly consistent. But US prices can be very different than prices in foreign countries (not even including import/export fees) the difference is all based on supply and demand in the reptile markets of each country. Morphs that are very common here might not be elsewhere thereby increasing the value.

As for the difference between shows it all depends on who is vending at them, how badly they want to sell, and how big the show is.

State laws regulating reptiles can effect prices as well.

I'm not aware of regional pricing. With so much of the ball python business being conducted through internet sales - prices seem to be pretty consistent, no matter where you purchase.

I agree with whats been said so far, i doubt there is much of a difference.

I would like to know what percent of bp sales for big breeders is online vs. expo/in person at the facility. Or if there are any regional patterns. Northern states have colder winters so i wonder if fire combos are more popular up here?

I also don't think there is much of a difference, then again I have only purchased reptiles from local shows in my area and online. I have found good deals with both.

You might see cheaper morphs in areas where a lot of people are breeding, but usually these particular morphs are low quality.

My guess is that you'd be more likely to find a bargain where there are higher concentrations of shows/expos. California and Florida are big ones, more local breeders = more competition. However, bargain does not mean quality. The jaw dropping combos, stunning single gene animals, and newer (less common) morphs won't be much different price wise and you generally have a better selection online.

All of my "breeding quality" BPs were acquired online. Not that the local shows don't have good animals, but I was able to find exactly what I wanted as far as what I liked in those morphs, and over half the vendors sold online as well anyway. My budget and ability to search the internet were my only limiting factors (fun to explain to the boyfriend why I had 70 some availability sections and classified pages book marked ). I don't see myself going to a show and finding what I want for much less than what I expect a breeder or company respectively to charge

Off topic but most people I know included myself do not shop by state or price, they shop for a quality animals from reputable breeders which make the rest (location and price) secondary.

I guess it all depends what our priorities are, mine is selective buying and breeding

But to come back to the original question I doubt there is much of a difference between states.
