Techie people help? Wii problem
My parents have been having a problem with their Wiimotes, when used (especially in Wii Fit) they shut off within a few seconds and a notice pops up on screen that the connectivity has been lost. The rechargeable batteries are fully charged, and even swapping them with good ol' AA batteries didn't solve the problem. I synced the remotes, turned off/unplugged the system for 30 seconds, nothing fixed it. It didn't start doing it until I went into Wii Fit. My dad says it's the same system I got for the family (remotes and everything) which means I got it for them Christmas of '07. My guess is that since they're 5 years old, it's just simply a matter of old age and they're in need of being replaced, but my dad wants to see if there's a way to fix them somehow. If he's okay with me doing it, I'll gladly take the remotes apart and take a look at it, but from what I can tell already I think the remotes are on the way out, and they're better off just being replaced. But, gotta get a second opinion in case they're something I haven't tried yet.

Try contacting Nintendo. While I haven't personally used their customer service I've heard good things about it. They might be able to help you out. Sorry I couldn't be of more help!

Maybe a software problem with the wii sending a signal to shut off the remotes. kinda hard to imagine 2 remotes failing at the same time in the exact same way. i would try connecting to the internet and seeing if there is a software update for it. or maybe a problem with the sensor bar. do you have another you can swap in and see if that helps.
