    Snow vs. Zebra Bee?

Since Ryan is asking about snow vs. albino pied, I guess I'll post my own 2013 conundrum: Snow vs. Zebra Bee (axanthic bumblebee)?

I have a 2009 VPI het albino female from Brian Sharp who is ready to breed this year. And I have an albino poss het axanthic male that is ready to breed her...

...but my friend just bought a killerbee het axanthic male.

She also bought an adult VPI axanthic female. So she can try for the zebra bee herself either way... but she's plenty happy to do a joint project and double the chances of getting that zebra.

So! what should I do? Try to prove out the possible het and go for the (maybe) 1 in 4 shot at a VPI snow? Or do the joint project and shoot for the 1 in 4 shot at the zebra bee?

    - - - Updated - - -

I'm currently leaning towards the snow. Mostly because I bought that albino for this, and joint projects always seem to get messy.

I'd stick with my own pair personally, would be itching to try and prove the possible het axanthic on the male.

I agree. Don't abandon your own projects for breeding loans.

    Cheers,
    Chris.

As much as it pains me to say this ( I love the zebra bee) prove out your male. Perhaps you can work a deal with your friend and trade some babies to make your own zebra bee next season.
