Horrid Smell...

So I had my new lesser out tonight and he shot urine EVERYWHERE. Most landed on my keyboard. I've cleaned and disinfected and sprayed on perfume...but is there anything to help the smell go away? I'd rather not buy another keyboard...

Lol I'm sorry to laugh that's a terrible thing to happen, did you try pulling off all the keys and wiping it down? My guess is there is alot still stuck under them that's making it smell

Ever had a snake regurge? Be happy it wasnt that. Or an exploding rat, those are pretty bad too. Had one blow up all over my table once, it was terrible. Nothing compared to a regurge though lol.

And like carlson said, pull all the keys off, wash them in a sieve, and wipe off the board. Take a picture first though so you can put everything back.

I laughed when he did it. He pooped on me when I got him...now this! I think I should have named him Pistol. Once I figure out how to remove keys...I'll try that. I might just go to walmart and buy an el-cheapo keyboard. I just liked this one :/ Silly boy.

I just figured out how to pop off the keys (never had to do that before). tomorrow I'll give him a stern talking to and work on the keyboard.

As for regurg, I have had a corn regurg. Granted, it was a small pinky...but it was still bad. I was lighting candles and incense galore!

If its a cheapo keyboard, just go ahead and replace it. The work involved would just be pointless on a cheap 15 dollar keyboard. I mean, you can go ahead and get a wireless one from best buy for about $25.

Otherwise, turn it over and pull the screws out. Or, sometimes, it's jut snapped together (don't force it, you might break it.). Inside is a rubber may that presses on the "guts", you'll need to clean all of those plus the casing on it. That should take care of the smell.

Offs the easy part it's putting them back on in order that'll cause problems but like was said up above just take a picture of it and it shouldn't cause you any problems. First time I took all the keys off I didn't take a picture so I spent the next hr and a half putting them back on correctly (it was my parents computer and they weren't happy lol.) I'm lucky so far haven't had a regurge yet but tomorrow's feeding day so best knock on wood haha. Hopfully cleaning under the keys helps save your board good luck and have fun, and picturing a snake getting a stern talking to makes me laugh lol I love mental pictures
