    Trait specific gender ratios's

Hey guys, Ive noticed a trend in the last few months that kind of got me thinking. I started out with 1 Male hooded Het Albino(he was het for other traits as well but they arent correlary to this post), and 5 females. 1 of which was albino. The pair produced 3 pups. Two were fed off, and I kept the single Albino female that was produced.

I fed off bother the mother and father, keeping a hooded russian blue half brother, and breeding it to the single female Albino. She then Produced 3 Albino females, and two agouti hooded, 1 male 1 female. I held back all three Albino females, as well as the mother, and kept those four in a seperate enclosure with the younger brother of the father. Another male hooded russian blue.

The mother has not had another litter yet, but the Albino daughters have all have their litters now, which collectively resulted in 5 Albino female Pups, and 3 hooded pups(2 male 1 female).

I thought it was weird that I literally had no male albino's after the second litter. But a few generations(and multiple litters) down I STILL have yet to get a single male. Im not particularly hoping for one, it just strikes me as odd XDD

At first I thought I may be sexing them incorrectly, but ive held back every albino ive produced, and have been 100% correct about gender(having only missexed one rat since I started breeding, and it was a hooded agouti male from my first litter).

Do different colors coats and patterns have different gender ratios? I was fairly confident that they were supposed to be 50/50, but who knows I may just have had an incredibly unique streak of liters. I think im going to keep holding them back and take photos to document the ratio. Who knows, maybe theres a genetic trait that can increase the odds of getting a certain gender? Have any of you guys had weird ratios with specific traits?

Not color, but I have one tub with a male and two females. The male carries the dumbo gene, one female carries the dumbo gene, one female is dumbo. Most of the dumbos I get from them are female, very few males. I haven't kept track but I was looking to hold back a dumbo male from that tub and it took a few litters to finally get one.

I have a lot of high white rats (capped) in my colony.
So far, I've always had male heavy litters. At least ~60-75% are male. It's probably a coincidence though. I don't really see any scientific correlation between the trait and gender though. I breed to selfs and berkshire coats and I still get male heavy litters. And my breeders are not related to each other.

Yeah, maybe ive just been lucky. Females are what ive needed after all. I just had 3 litters, and they seem to be 50/50, but those are all hooded agouti beige or black, so it doesnt change my albino odds. Ill have to keep an eye out.

Just thought Id give an update. Got another litter. Got some unexpected albinos from an agouti moms litter. There wound of being 3 females and 1 male, so as of now there is still an incredibly high number of females, but I have gotten a male now. I got 1 more male hooded russian blue as well. Thats number 5 and no females yet.
