Birthing tubs
Are these 20qt. tubs big enough for the mommas to have the babies?

Big enough to give birth in, but crowded when the babies get a bit of size. I'd go bigger. They don't need height as much as width, floor space.
I may not be very smart, but what if I am?

Why not just leave them in the bigger tubs then?

I use the 20qt tubs in my momma racks and as long as you feed off some when they hit the fuzzy size then the tubs do not become over crowded.
I find the babies we pull from the momma tubs are bigger than the same age babies we leave in the colony with adults.
