What to do after cutting open a 54 day old ball python egg?

    Hi bp netters,
im new in this site and in breeding ball pythons... Hope someone here can help me out.. What should we do after cutting open a ball python egg (day 54). Non of the egg in the clutch has peeped but I decided to cut them open because one of the eggs had a nipple like protrusion that were getting moldy.. This baby didn't make it. Had cut open the others and they're alive. Do we wait to have them come out or can we remove them from there eggs?

Thanks guys.. Hope someone can help me out

No you don't take them out of the egg!!! Why would you even think that make sense? Let them come out by themselves...

    Thanks John and coldblooded.
but it's safe to cut them in this stage incubated 88.6F (day 54)? Do you removed them from the incubator once you cut them open and transfer the open egg to a moist tub or just keep them in the incubator till they come out? My prob is that if I wait them out in the incubator, I still have some eggs there that they might disturb.

    thanks all.

Leave them in the incubator. You cut them a little early at 88.6 degrees. They will probably start pipping at day 58-60 and come out a couple days after that. Just leave them alone now.

The clutch is in their own separate tub, right?

You leave them in the incubator until they all come out. Why would they disturb other eggs? Aren't they in a closed egg tub?

Have a small incubator and other eggs are in there now.. Transferred them to a Squamata tub under flex watt @88f. Read from some books to safely incubate them @88-90f. Kevin mcurley's book. The previous clutch 1 peeped @ day 53, second clutch 1 peeped day 50, every time 1 peeps out from the clutch, I try cutting them open.. Just this 3rd clutch was kind problematic. It's day 54 then none is peeping.. Then one of the eggs had a nipple kinda part that had molds.. So tried touching the egg then it was kinda hard so opened it and the baby ball was dead.. It's like the yolk has hardened or had a consistency of a glue. So I decided to cut them all open. All are incubated around 88-89f. Humidity 90-95%. Do u think wat I did is bad?

Cutting at Day 54 isn't necessarily bad (I do it), but you don't want to force them to come out of the egg unless you can see a problem, or one is taking many days longer than the others in the same clutch to come out (which could indicate a problem). This clutch shouldn't bother any other eggs in your incubator, as long as it is in its own, enclosed, egg tub. Oh, and throw out the bad egg if it isn't attached to the good ones.

They should be fine, but leave them in the incubator until they all come out on their own!
