Unless my calculations are off, there cannot be any Pewters. This was from Super Pewter(Urban Camo) X Pewter (original mother). I could be wrong though. As far as I know there is no "Fader" gene in the mix. I'm not exactly sure where or when the Fader was first discovered, but I have raised, and still own, all animals that I've used in this project. These animals appear to have more fading that any Fader I've seen, but I can honestly say I haven't paid a ton of attention to that project. Having worked with some nice Vanishing Patter Hondurans, these remind me more of a vanishing behavior. There was another Super Pewter but it is unfortunately kinked beyond words. All other animals are fine and looking better than I could have imagined. Please feel free to help me understand the Fader gene a little more. With a full-time job, a 9 month old, and more animals than I can count, it's hard for me to keep up.
To add to the topic, we have another clutch from Super Pewter (UC) X het Pied due next week. Hopefully this will prove or disprove the het Pied theory. We are still going to pair him with more Pieds down the road to make certain.
Thanks again for the kind words.
