Jungle carpet baby.....need help and suggestions
I purchased this girl...pretty sure she is a girl....my first experience popping, but there were no hemipens, just a white squishy lump....so anyways...purchased this girl from a third party seller for $65, she is very little, long, but reminds me of a corn snake baby, just a little thicker but not by much....trying to keep her humidity up as she looks really dry and ashey in places....she will NOT eat, I have had her for about three weeks and I have tried pinkie rats, pinkie mice, pinkie rats scented with mouse etc....wants nothing to do with it.....I am afraid that what i ended up with is an unestablished baby that was probably too young to be sold imo.....so now I need some advice or tips on how I can get her to eat, and shed....she needs the second badly, she has been in her hide for a week, I assume she comes out for water while i am sleeping, I haven't seen her out in a week like I said....she had been hanging from the thermometer inside the tank, but I am stumped.....my ball pythons have always been easy.....this is a new one for me.....and boy is she touchy.....thanks in advance....

Get some perches in her enclosure and try something a bit more active like a small hopper mouse. I find baby carpets like to ambush their prey from above.

Can she eat something that size???? The rat pup seemed so big next to her...but i will try any thing at this point....and i will work on the perches this week....i don't feed in their main cage...i feed in strike ribs with kids...should i put one together with perches specifically for her?

Honestly, she does'nt look like she's had her very first shed yet, definatly unestablished. imo

I want a carpet bad so I've been doing a lot of research.
Carpets don't like to touch anything that doesn't have fur. Get a feeder with fur.
This is assuming the rest of the husbandry is correct.

Too late to edit... dang.
Yes it can take down something that size straight out of the egg. No handling while it's digesting.

Don't move for feeding, it's probably just stressing her. Perches don't have to be elaborate, just toss some plastic clothes hangers in the enclosure so you have a little web of perches she can use. Once you see her perched up drop a small, live mouse hopper in there and see if she doesn't go for it when it wanders within range.

Try a live hopper mouse, they move a lot more than rat pinkies. Try feeding her at night, and do not bother her for a week. Make sure your hot spot is around 90 degrees.
