    A ball and a carpet

If I set up a 1 male an 1 female for breeding would that work for a bp and a carpet python? I was thinking let half the litter grow to large extra large and feed those to the cp and feed the small to medium size too my bp. Repeat breeding as needed. Would that work or does it just work on my head?

That would probably supplement your feeding program. With only two snakes it might be more trouble than its worth. You might end up with a bunch of rats all the wrong size to feed off.plus while your waiting the female will still be pumping out kids. Unless your snakes will eat multiple smaller rats or you plan to kill and freeze. My one asf colony constantly pumps out 20 to 30 at a time. And one of my normal rats just had a litter of 18. I don't want to sound discouraging but I don't want you to end up with a bunch of rats you have to deal with and can't use. Just my opinion.

Once they reach size for my bp I'll be freezing them off, an once a rat reaches size for my cp (large and Xl) aren't they done growing? Least that's what I'm hoping cuz wanted turn out four l/xls a month for her an if they stop growing at that size id just have to keep the sexes in different bins for the feeders. If I have surplus that's ok with me the rescue I got my cp from can always use frozen mice.

it depends how you feed them... males will reach extra large on a strict staple of adult protien requirement HT...females will stay smaller but you really cant tell.

K once they reach Xl that's there stopping point right? And what I figured was in a 12 baby litter grow them until they fit my bp then freeze 8 and let four grow out. I'm hoping that at that stage I'll be able to sex them easily enough so I can hold the males for the cp. is a month enough time to get that size? Sorry for all the questions trying to figure out how to approach this and do it correctly 😝

No, they will not grow up to large in a month.

Uhm, the avarage time they are considered fully adults is around 5-6 months, but if you want them to grow faster you can supplement them with pasta and some meat. You can sex them real early. at around five to six weeks they need to be separated or they will breed and often the males will get worked up and can injure eachother. Testicles are well visible, and you can also avert the penis.

Hmm k that's why I ask questions I'll rethink this until I get a solution, I realize its probably more of a pain then needed at the moment but when you have the free time and the money why not see what can be done. Might have to just set aside more space then was thinking

Haha I wanna I gotta wait till I'm done with this coarse so I can work full time again then I'm sure more will come. So I know one day I will be in need of a small colony so figured might as well start sooner just to get my feet wet you know. Seeing as I'm gonna have to keep four from each litter for five months for my big girl i guess I'll look into making a seven rack set up
