Isn't het red a morph of it's own? like...putting that with a black pastel will give you a gargoyle / onyx?

JaGv put my thoughts much more eloquently that myself. Co-dom is what I meant by "morph"

That's what the lady said "het red". I didn't buy her cuz of that I bought her as a normal female breeder and she told me that when I picked her up. And I'm not sure how many times she tried but ill check and let you know.

Het reds are a Co-dom morph. They're not recessive. So if the breeder is telling the truth, she is a het red. Not a normal. Check out word of ball pythons to see what het reds make when combo'd with other morphs. One of my favs is het red x black pastel to get the onyx (aka gargoyle). The full name of the morph is Het Red Axanthic. Its confusing that they call a Co-dom a het..but alas, can't change the name now.

You don't "prove out" a het red any more than you prove out a pastel. Here's a guide to the het red gene:

    http://ball-pythons.net/forums/showt...t-Red-Axanthic
    [Python regius]
1.0 Black Butter Pinstripe (Amazeballs), 1.0 Pastel Butter Leopard (Thunderbeeper)
0.1 Spider (Charlotte), 0.1 Leopard (Spot), 0.1 Pastel (Buttercup), Fire Sugar (Abaddon), Crystal (Opalescence)

    [Python brongersmai]
    1.1 T+ Albino (Kushiel & Carmilla)

    [Boa imperator]
1.0 Hypo 100% Het Leopard/66% Het Albino (Darcy)
    0.1 66% Het Leopard/Albino (Gabby)

    [Colubrids]
0.1 Cave-dwelling Rat Snakes (Betty Spaghetti)
