Silly boa habit
My husband and I had our boa out for a bit today. We were making fun of her because if you put her down, she freaks out until she is grabbing on to something. Even if just the tip of her tail is wrapped around something she's good, but if she isn't grabbing anything she pretty much flails around until she does. We were just wondering if this is something boas do, or if it's just her silly personality. Anyone else have this with their boa?

My jungle does this too, but my others are all fine without needing something to wrap around. I hear a lot of boas do this though

Mine has to have his tail hanging on to something too.

I think it's a security thing with them, both of mine do that as well.

One of my ball pythons will do that as well! I'll put her on the couch for a second and she flails and twists until she gets picked up or can wedge herself between the cushions

My female does this too. In fact, she was so bad about it, I worried that she had some kind of neurological thing going. We were thankfully able to fully rule that out, and she's gotten better as she's gotten older, but she still has minor hysterics until she gets her tail around something - or until she manages to get around my shoulders. She likes to hang out on my shoulders and seems to feel secure there. She'll relax and let go if she's on my shoulders. Otherwise, she'd better have her whole tail arounds something or she spazes.
Funny, neither one of my boys are like that.............
