Prey that's about the same size around as the biggest part of your snake's body. In this case, that's probably an adult mouse.

When my ball was that size, I fed it medium to large mice. At first I fed them live, but then weaned her to f/t.

    Hope this helps!

    size of rubbermaid bin?

my ball is 2 feet long and could eat 3 adult mice. i have been feeding rats the last couple of times and he took a medium rat with no problem. but it does matter how big round the snake is, you dont want to feed them something too big.

At that size, adult mice, or, if you can get them, rat "pups". Those will be small immature rats about the same size as an average sized adult mouse.

It's debated, but some herpers believe that rats of the same size will be easier to digest than mice, as the rats will be still immature and their bones won't be quite as solidified and such. I'm not sure if anyone has ever conducted a scientific study of this, but it is generally agreed that when your BP reaches larger size, mice will be a bit small for a filling meal, so switching to rats as soon as practical is a good idea. Some snakes are more reluctant to take rats if they're not offered them until an older age.
