    Constipated?

My bp hasn't pooped yet, but she's eat almost a 3rd of her body weight over the last 2 weeks, is she constipated? She did pass a good sized urate last night. How long should it take for her to poop?

They all poop at different rates. I have some snakes that poop once a week and others that poop once a month or less. I wouldn't worry about your snake yet. Once you see the 'sausage butt', you'll know poop is coming soon.

Unless the area by their vent is firm, don't worry. Sometimes they poop every week, sometimes every month.

The area is pretty firm, I tried soaking her but she doesn't like the water much... any other ideas?

What did you try soaking her in? I would try soaking in 80-85º water for 20-30 minutes. Put her in a plastic tub with holes on the sides. The water should only come up about 2/3 of the snakes body, so very shallow water. I like to add a few crumpled pieces of paper towel in there so they have something to grab onto.

That should help loosen things up. I wouldn't worry too much unless she stays like that for another week or two. Is it possible she might shed soon? Sometimes they save their poo for when they shed...who knows why.

I tried soaking her for about a half hour today. She is showing signs that she may shed soon. I'll soak her again tomorrow.

If she's showing signs of shedding, then please stop soaking her.
Soaking will strip her of the natural oils that acts like a lubricant between the old skin and the new skin. Soaking before a shed will lead to a poor shed.

Many snakes poop when they shed, so I wouldn't worry too much about your snake yet.
