    Morph Question

    I found a breeder near me with some BPs listed on craigslist and they have pics of them. The breeder calls them 66% Het Pied. They look like normals to me lol.

    >.< most hets DO look like normals. It means they are Heterozygos for a certain gene. If you put 2 100% hets together, you'll get hets and pieds, even though they look normal.
    Mine's bigger.

    66% het pied means they carry the gene for pied, but it is not visual. 66% means that there is a 66% chance that they carry the gene. I'd be VERY cautious buying a het anything from craigslist unless they have the paperwork to back it up.

    I am not so much worried about the morph itself I was just curious about what it meant seeing as how they look normal. Is Pied the same as Piebald? The breeder has a picture of the whole clutch and one looks like the pics I have seen of Piebalds so is that the gene the 66% Het Pied means?

    Pied = Piebald

    Again I'd be very wary of buying a het from craigslist.

    Thanks. I've read over that before and I understand genetics....bio science major...my question was mainly about the morph itself. LGrey23 cleared it up gor me though. I now know which morph a Pied is.
