female laid eggs in water bowl?

has this ever happened to anyone? i am worried that my female will seek out her water bowl and lay her eggs in it...she is quite gravid and has been soaking a lot which i know is normal, but i am worried she might.....become too fond of her water bowl and drown all of the eggs.

Then provide her with an alternative. If you're worried about her laying in her water dish, then give her a lay box

This is complete speculation, but I'm thinking she is smarter than that.

You can always just switch out the water bowl to a smaller one where she cannot fit in it.

This has happened to me several times with colubrids but never with a ball python. If you're worried about it just remove the water bowl.

Re: female laid eggs in water bowl?

When I was in MY third trimester, the only way I could get comfortable was by sitting in a swimming pool, and it never occurred to me to give birth anywhere but in the hospital!

The poor thing is probably just trying to get some relief, and I hope you don't take her bowl away! I know absolutely nothing about breeding snakes, but I can tell you that late pregnancy can be absolutely miserable.

Ive never had a gravid girl soak before, they are always right on the hotspot. Only soaking I ever see is when they are building before ovulation.
