    Exclamation Just my luck...

So today I was receiving a RTB that I found on Craigslist. She was coming with a 4 ft viv so I needed to rearrange my room a bit so A) I could quarantine her away from my established ball. B) that's a big ol cage! And C) she hasn't been handled much in the past few months so I wanted to give her a nice quiet place to settle in. So (being a military man) my wife and I go to work.

Now mind you we weren't doing a lot of strenuous moving just a bit of rearranging. Well about 3/4 the way through my lower right back under my ribs but above my waist starts to ache. I thought no big del and continued to work. All of a sudden it really stars to hurt I me IT FREAKING HURT. So I take a minute to sit down and try to stretch it out. No dice. As a matter of fact the pain got way worse and also was starting to hurt my stomach. Then it happened, I started to throw up...I'm talking Excorcist style streams. I thought it must have been some bad pizza I had last night.

Well my wife being concerned told me I should go to the hospital. Well I'm all manly so no I'm not going. More Excorcist happens and I tell her I am going to the hospital and would return shortly. I drove myself and see the doc. After some blood work, a UA and a CT scan, he comes back and shakes my hand. He tells me that I got to be the manliest man in the world because I have a 9mm x 5mm kidney stone. He says that people with a 1mm stone look like they have been shot. Now comes the bad news...surgery on Monday.

But I got my snake and she is beautiful!

Life always has a way of balancing out the good with the bad so we can never get too full of ourselves. Congrats on the snake and good luck on the surgery.

Holy crap man, that's got to be awful! I've had kidney stones, but all of mine eventually passed. At least you're able to find humor in your situation. Congrats on the snake, and good luck with your surgery!

Damn that's a big stone! I sympathize with you, I had them a few years ago and the pain was just excruciating. Didn't need surgery though, ended up getting some sort of procedure that broke them up so they could pass.

    Hang tough until Monday man...

Ouch. My dad had a same size stone, and I saw him going thru quite a bit of pain, so I can imagine the pain you're in. It's good that you went to the doctor.

Good luck on the surgery! At least you'll have a nice snake to come home to!

Thanks everyone, the surgery isn't a surgery per se it's a procedure that sounds absolutely horrible but they are going in and going to break it up then I will pass it. Thanks for all the support and will keep everyone updated as I go along. Thank the Gods I am in the military for the health insurance. They gave me a morphine shot yesterday and some great pills today. So the pain isn't so so bad but hopefully the Exorcist doesn't visit again, that would be terrible. Have a good one everyone!
