Sorry, but I have a rack humidity question
I know this one has been beaten to death but I have a humidity question in regards to racks. I just got an RBI Iris sweater box rack and have been trying to prepare for the new pickup I will be making in 2 weeks. I have gotten the humidity down to 70% by drilling the tub full of holes. I have room for more if necessary but I was curious if 70% is ok or if I should bring it down another 10%. This is my first rack system and don't want to get my girl sick from too much humidity. Again, sorry for yet another humidity thread but I appreciate the input.

Is the tub getting condensation?
If so, add more holes.
My tubs are at 50%, and they'll shed just fine if I miss the signs and don't mist.

They used to have condensation, but now they do not. I think I will move her in tomorrow if general consensus says 70%is ok. I have just seen so many different things about humidity.

70% percent is ok. 60% is ideal though. If your having trouble keeping it down turn a fan on low in the room, get the air circulating. That should help quite a bit but as long as there is no condensation in the tub your good. But before drilling holes try the fan.

I will try the fan tonight. I do have a floor fan from when I lived in a much warmer house.

That will work. I wouldn't point it directly at the rack of course but somewhere close to get the air moving. It'll take a short while but that should get your humidty down to where you'd like it. I had the same problem. Condensation built up in the tubs and my humidity was through the roof, I just turned on the ceiling fan and everything cleared right up. Humidity is right around 60% now. Good luck.

Thanks, there is also a ceiling fan in there. The rack will be moving when the newcomer is out of quarantine, but there is a ceiling fan where it will be moving. I will try the ceiling fan first

Just a dusting of aspen and some holes brought down my humidity from 80% to 65%. I used to have a thicker layer of aspen and no holes. I did not have to downsize my water dish which is rather large... like 6" diameter.

Edit- this is a 41qt tub.

The aspen thing is a good idea too. I was thinking about a different substrate since she keeps moving and scrunching up the paper towels. Thanks for the suggestion
