Hi, all.

I'm a pretty new member here, although I HAVE been a lurker for quite awhile. Snakes (BPs, included) are not a new venture for me...but 'higher end' morphs is definitely unchartered territory.

I posted up a question on the Morphs page about my hunt for a special BP...and a couple folks suggested I look into Pieds. Well....I did....and I GOTTA have one.

I'd prefer a medium-white pied...and since I'm not a breeder...I don't care about hets and possible hets. This will be a PET, and ONLY a pet. While the high-whites are pretty, I really want something close to a 50-50 split. I looked at photos of 50/50's for a few hours last night...and I'm hooked.

I've got the "go" order from my better half to pick one up...so my official hunt begins. There are a few caveats, however:

1. Would DEFINITELY prefer a well-started animal...but one that's still fairly young. I figure 6-months or so is a good ballpark. I want to watch it grow up!

2. Would DEFINITELY prefer a frozen/thawed eater. I've had SOME success in the past with converting from live to F/T...but my wife helps me with my hobby from time to time, and let's just say that she's not a huge fan of feeding live. Truth be told, neither am I.

3. I'm looking to take possession of my new BP in a few months. I'm currently serving overseas, and won't get back home until December of this year.

4. The more docile, the better. I know that most are inherently calm...but I've owned a couple normals (back in the day) that never grew out of their bad attitude. Since this is going to be a pet, I'm willing to work with it constantly. That said, I'm inclined to focus on ones that don't show the propensity to strike every 2.5 seconds. An overly-aggressive snake will NOT be doing me any favors in the wife department!!

5. If the right animal comes along, I'm totally fine with paying in-full for the animal now. All I would ask is that the seller be willing to work with me on the delivery date. I'll even pay for the weekly feedings and care requirements from the time of purchase to the time of shipment.

6. If any of you can steer me in the right direction, with respect to particular breeders (or forum members) I should contact, feel free to shoot me a Private Message. I'm learning my way around the boards pretty quickly...and this is DEFINITELY a pleasant distraction from the job out here.

Thanks a ton for your time. Any help you can offer is greatly appreciated.

K.D.
