Where to put my incubator??

I'm gathering up all my stuff for making a DIY incubator out of a 18cu/ft fridge.

My problem is this.... I'd like to leave the incubator in an uncontrolled environment (garage) in FL which can get upwards of 100F at times- but not likely during breeding season. I could place it elsewhere in a more controlled envvironment, but would like to keep it in the garage. It does get in the 30's here sometimes in the winter, but that's not the norm either.

Would keeping the incubator at 88-89F be an issue if ambient temps get in the mid 90's, or the 30's for a few days??

I'm reading what I've written here, and it's kinda obvious I should attempt to place it in a more controlled environment than the garage.....

I think you answered your own question. You don't want one of your girls surprising you with eggs during one of those 95+ stretches.

I've read so much about eyeless, and one eyed snakes being POSSIBLY related to temp spikes that I just do not want to chance that being an issue.

I'm looking at 1-3 possible clutches this coming year... Pied x Pied, Spider x Lesser, Pin x Lesser- I really want a Kingpin

You don't want to risk it. I've had females lay anywhere from March to Aug and in between. Seems like my incubator is always in use or getting ready. I guess there are worse things. I live in Phoenix where it is always 100+ during the summer. I have to keep mine in the house. Would hate to see you have problems because it is hot outside.

The incubator should be in the most controlled environment you can give it, temperature swings are the enemy.
We used a garage for one of our incubators last year and sweated bullets many times and with some really good luck we came out ok and all eggs hatched fine.

Trust me it's not worth the worry...
