Red/Night Zoo Med light and my 1st set-up

I just set up my 1st tank a few hrs ago..I have a UTH on a thermostat set at 90 degrees on one side of the tank. The thermostat prob is between the UTH and glass under the tank. Using a screen topped 10 gal tank my ambient temp was low..So I hooked up a red/night Zoo Med light and my ambient it at 80. I have my thermometer prob set dead center of the tank about 4 inches from the floor on the back wall. Humidity is 49%, which is probably a little low, but the care sheet says 50 to 60%... So I'm close for Non-shed. Also have two hides one Warm one cool with a water dish in the center.. so the water is kinda on the UTH also, not sure if that matters?
Anyways, can I leave the Red/night light on 24 hrs a day for the heat? The room will have natural light during the day hours.

Yes, red light should be fine on 24. Everything else sounds good. I would shoot for a bit higher humidity.

Yea, I'm probably going to have to either mist or cover some of the screen.. Maybe a moist towel or something? We don't have a BP yet, me and my daughter are going to pick one up tomorrow. It'll be our 1st snake.

Also I just used my Pro Exotic temp gun.. One hide is 88 and the other 80.. Does this sound OK ?

Hot spot should be at 90-94 so I would raise it just a bit. Also using cypress mulch cash help give you alittle more humidity.

Misting moss inside the hides can create nice humid hides during a shed cycle. That is what I do and always have great sheds with my tank usually setting between 40-50%. Misting the moss in the hides will give them what they need and since that is where they usually are it is where it matters.
