For months I've wanted a Bumblebee, but never thought I'd be able to afford one.
So, today was just like any other day out with mum and a couple of friends. There's a local reptile shop that is actually really cool, I love going there. The guy that runs it is really cool, and his animals are always perfectly taken care of. He obviously cares about them quite a bit.
Anyway, I'm looking for a frozen rodent supplier, so I went there for a quote while mum picked up the cat-sized rats for our Red Tail. Then, I check out the BP's - and hiding under a huge normal and a Spider is the coolest Bumblebee I'd ever seen. His yellow wasn't yellow - it was a blond color, and a gorgeous blond at that.
So I'm like, "I can't afford him..." So I get a friend to check the price on him - $300. That's less than what I was going to pay for a Lesser at the upcoming show!
"Okay..." I say unto myself. "Sooo... if he's not nippy... and if mum lets me... I'll buy him, maybe?" I get him out, and he's a complete sweetheart. Not a sign of hesitation, no head shyness... nothing. His only downfall was a noticeable wobble, but he had eaten and was eating well. "Take him out in the sun!" Says the shop keeper. "He's way cooler in the sun!" So I do... and at that moment, he was mine. It just clicked. Quick walk to an ATM and I finally have my dream snake!!
His name's Loki... and before I hear any groans or mutters of "How original..", I had reserved the name Loki for my fave snake long before The Avengers came out, as one of my hobbies is ancient studies. Loki is my favorite God of all the ancient religions. :3
CRAPPY pics - taken just after I got him home. shall have to get better ones tomorrow!
Also, he weight in at 595 grams.
