    Another RTB On The Loose...

From Yahoo News. This time it's Atlanta. So, in the past week, this makes two RTB's and one Burm caught. Whether they are being released, planted, or escaped, this does not help us at all...

Poor thing was probably terrified! No wonder it took them a while to get it to let go of that hitch. That was a gorgeous RTB though. That side pattern was crazy!!

But yes, it doesn't help at all. My guess is this stupid Lacey Act has idiots freaking out over being "caught" with them, and instead of giving to a shelter or rescue (because they think they'll get in trouble because they had it) they just let them go. They really should say that they assure nothing will happen to owners who wish to give up their reptiles. That way, more people would turn them in to a controlled rescue instead of causing headlines like this. I bet the news will hunt down every escaped snake/reptile story they can find, no matter how small it is. Even if it's someone just saying "I found a Ball Python in my backyard, but it's okay because I love snakes and I took it to a rescue", it will become "neighborhood shocked over constrictor found lurking in residential area".
