I was looking through some ads on craigslist and I have grown SICK of seeing ads that say "I've adopted this puppy to save it" and "This puppy was in a high kill shelter".

Both the Shelters I have worked at have had a minimum age at which a dog can be put down. One was 8 months and the other was a year.

I believe people are depriving puppies of going straight to a good home and making it easier for older dogs to be put down. Mostly because puppies would get adopted in like 48 hours of arrival and we put down older dogs almost DAILY!

Why not adopt an older dog to try and find a home for. Maybe I'm wrong? What's your view? Do you think all shelters should have a minima age? Do you think there should be a better way of shelter management?

Thoughts?
