    when roll-outs go bad...

i am incubating my 2nd clutch of eggs (ever) and 1/4 was a roll-out. I am wondering if anyone has noticed or noted at approximately what day do roll-outs go bad? or is it completely unpredictable? my last clutch was 8 eggs, and one of the two roll-outs went bad but i didn't think to take note of when.

I had two roll outs this year in one clutch. The eggs are at around day 40 or so, and are still doing just fine. No bad roll outs here. You will probably find that the eggs will go full term.

I'm at 100% hatch rate on rollouts, granted that's only 3 eggs, but still.. If it has veins, incubate the sucker!

I was unaware when I got my first clutch ever last year about rolling.

I flipped them twice to check them

    All 7 went full term.
Lost one to a twisted umbilical.

    But yeah.

I have had no roll outs go bad out of many roll outs.
I had 3 clutches last year that the females let roll around and never did coil on them, 100% hatch rate.

hmm i am incubating the roll-out (more like the push-out cuz mama did not want that egg under her) i was just curious to see if there is a common time period that eggs go bad if they are going to go bad, whether they are rollouts or boob eggs or anything.

I don't think there is. I think its after a day or two of being settled after lay that its fatal.

so no one has noticed an average day that eggs will begin to go bad? hahaha i was hoping i would get an answer like "eggs generally go bad between day 10 and day 20" so i could concentrate my worrying and not worry so much during the rest of the incubation period LOL

this year was our first clutch (het. pied x het. pied) we got 6 eggs... 1 was a boob and 1 was a rollout. The boob egg was the only one to not make it! It looked as though the snake didn't have enough room to fully develop. But the rollout was just fine!
