    Clowns - explained?

Can someone explain a bit about the different lines of Clowns. Who proved them, when and what the differences are... I've seen BHB and I've also seen Carnival.

    What's the diff?

    thanks

I don't know much, most clowns seem to be pretty much similar.

I have seen Russo clowns, which have a distinct look to them. And Russo Circus clowns, which are wild. I saw those at Tinley last year.

Never heard of carnival, but I as I said I don't know a lot about clowns.

It seems that there isn't a lot of information about the various clown "lines"

Does anybody have any information they could share?

A clown is a clown is a clown, I'm not sure what's to explain?

    Carnival clown...

"The Carnival Clown is simply a line of Clowns we work with that throw brighter, more reduced patterned snakes. We have selectively bred the brighter animals together to refine the look."

If they took a wild caught clown and selectively bred it then it's theirs, if not it's just one person's selectively bred clown, nothing more, nothing less.

I believe most clowns come from BHB's line, but I'm not positive.

    Re: Clowns - explained?

As far as I know, all Clowns originate from two distinct strains, the first to be proved out was the VPI strain which has an overall busier pattern and the other strain is the BHB Reduced Pattern, could be wrong but those are the two that I know came straight out of Afrika...

Basically this. A little more..Aside from the two major clone lines, they visually have very aberrant patterns with a bold dorsal stripe. Regardless of how busy or how reduced the pattern the dorsal is always very clear distinction. Of course this is my opinion, also I do not own any clowns.

But the two "strains" are still mutually genetically compatible?
