    Discoloration on bottom jaw

We had our pied out today to take some pics and I noticed he had some discoloration under his jaw.

Anyone know what this could be?

I tried looking inside his mouth but couldn't see anything abnormal.

Really! This is something I had no idea about! Some of mine have a little bit of graying going on on their chin, but nothing like this. Also not Pieds.

Is it something that comes as they get older? He's never had it before

    Re: Discoloration on bottom jaw

This Scared the crap out of me the first time I saw it with my Pied Girl I thought for sure she had mouth rot. Not only does she have almost the exact same marking on the bottom of her jaw. But she had a very dark almost black spot right in the split of her lower jaw Thanks goodness my vet will take a look at pics Via Email he said it was normal. I would post pics but I cant find the ones I sent the vet and she just ate today but I vote NORMAL

Normal, As you know I had the same questions when I had first noticed our Pied with the same 'discoloration' under her jaw. Ours, as a hatchling did not have this marking, but after several sheds it began to get more grey and dark. All is good!

It gets more distinct as they age.

Same as above. All of my pieds have that same lavender/gray coloration under their jaws. It's just a feature, not a bug.
