    Bits in the heat pits

So a random question to throw out to my much more experienced bp mates. Looking at my little guy I noticed he has little bits (like in one or two spots) in his heat pits. They don't appear to be lodged there and I know they aren't those little buggers. (mites) I was just wondering if it was any cause for concern or is it just something he will either wash out his own when he goes for a dip or something that may just fall out?

    Update

It turns out it was just little bits of aspen (dark bark looking bits) and they came out when he went to get a drink and dipped his head into the water. I pulled him out and inspected and he was all clear. Sorry for not posting pics of it. Didn't think about that when I made the topic.
