Kink on tail affecting future breeding?
I picked up a little female pin today at the Daytona expo. It wasnt until a couple of minutes ago in my hotel room that I felt the tiniest little kink on her tail near her cloaca. It isn't visible but you can feel the kink when you run your fingers down the end of her tail.
She is going to hopefully be a future breeder for me. Is this kink something I should be worried about? Should I try to either return or exchange the animal? I was NOT told about any sort of kink and she was just one out of 6 or 7 female pins on display.
What do you think I should do?

Re: Kink on tail affecting future breeding?
I would try to exchange, especially if you were planning on going back tomorrow anyways. While there is a good chance that it isnt genetic, it would hurt a lot to spend so much time growing her up, pairing her and caring for eggs to find out it was genetic.

Maybe the person who sold her to you didn't notice the kink. I'm not sure how difficult it would be to miss. I would get an exchange, or return her and buy from someone else. There's some smokin cinnies for sale on fauna currently. They came from quality selective breeding .

?
She said pin lol.
Marissa the breeder probably didnt notice it, especially since you said it isnt visible. Im sure not every breeder takes the time to feel up every part of the snake to check for stuff. A good breeder will let you exhange her no questions asked. Let us know how it goes

I emailed them so I'm hoping to at least get an exchange of not a refund. I'm disappointed because I really like this girl!

What I noticed is that a lot of babies have a "kink" near their Cloaca but it's not one. It is a bone, I had this same problem until I felt others! Haha

Do you have any closeups of the kink? I know you said its not really noticeable but maybe if you bend the tail a little. Or at least point to where it is. I have 2 girls i got at the last expo right around 100grams so id be happy to pull them out and see if i feel anything on them. Just for comparison if you want.
The breeder should be able to tell you if its actually a kink or not.
