    Black Pastel??

Aside from the high contrast coloration is there another way to identify a black pastel? I was offered the following snake as part of a trade, but it looks like a normal to me. What are your thoughts?

    Thanks
    Herps are cool.

One of the attractions of outdoor pursuits activities for many people is that life is reduced to the barest essentials, and in the process a more intimate connection to the natural world is established. Food that would be trashed or fed to the dog at home tastes wonderful, a cup of murky water is much appreciated, and after a few days, even a thin sleeping pad can feel like a comfortable mattress as tired bones are able to rest after a hard day's work.

That's what I was thinking. All the black pastels that I have seen have pretty distinctive alien heads or donuts along their sides with a nice hard color line. The color of this one, while nice, just didn't look right. Plus the banding across the back seemed weird.

Thats a normal. Black pastels have crazy shaped alien heads with little squiggles in them. Sometimes they float.

Yeah def a normal. The easiest way to recognise them is their pattern and color.

yeah, i'm going to say normal as well, I can see where the pattern can start leaning towards Black Pastel in a couple of places. But that is a normal..
