Are you planning on breeding it? Animals with deformities should not be bred! I could make a nice pet though!

If you love this hobby, don't knowingly breed animals with deformities.

There is a chance of them passing on the deformity onto the offspring.
I honestly don't know how it works with something being wrong from an incubation problem, ( not saying that is what this deformity is from ) but I honestly would not chance it.

If he was born with it, there is always a chance it could be genetic. Could be from an incubation issue also. If it's an injury and they are just calling it cleft lip then it wouldn't be an issue. I wouldn't risk it personally. I'm a worry wart though.

I should add that yes injuries are fine to breed, but if it was born with this "cleft lip" I would assume it's genetic and never risk it. I'd probably steer clear of this breeder. If he's trying to sell this snake as a breeder and not as a pet....that's very sketchy.

I am curious on why you would chose a deformed animal as a future breeder?

When I consider breeding an animal it's always about SELECTIVE breeding.

I can see someone getting this animal as a pet but as a breeder I just would not risk it and it's not like Pewters are hard to come across those days.
