    CO2 Chamber Parts Questions

    Hi there,

I have been reading the stickies and various threads on CO2 chambers for rat euthanasia, but I had a few questions I couldn't find the answer to. As a complete newbie to Co2 dispatch, do the paintball remotes come with a dial or some way for you to know when the tank needs to be refilled? I just want to make sure I don't get a batch that doesn't work right. I don't have a local paintball shop that I know of so I was going to order all of my supplies off Amazon.

Also, do I really need various adapters that I see on different DIY instructions or can I just buy a CO2 tank, remote, and bin to connect? It seems like the remotes are already designed to fit onto the tank and then I could just drill or solder and glue the other side into the bin with a hole on top to release extra air being displaced?

Finally, is a 20oz tank sufficient? I only plan to have about 12 breeding female rats at a time for my collection size.

    Thanks so much!

You can weigh the tank empty and full, that way you'll know how much is left.

I have a shop nearby so i only keep a 20oz, but if i had to travel i would get a bigger tank or multiples.

I use 1 20oz tank and a coiled hose (think its called a Hopper). The hose comes with a quick connect valve that i screwed into a latched sterilite container and get about three uses out of each bottle. Make sure they stay in long enough or they will start to wake up.
