    Pros: Nothing.
Cons: They are junk and I would NEVER use one on any of my reptiles.

Cancel your order if you can and order yourself one of these: http://www.amazon.com/Hydrofarm-MTPR...arm+thermostat

If you are running the same heat mats or flexwatt you can hook them both to one thermostat.

Sadly I agree the 500r has no redeaming features. It is junk IMO. I had one a while back and cut the cords because I could not sell it in good faith and did not want anyone to be subjected to its failings.

personally I would hesitate to suggest the hydrofarm it is better but not by much. I would recommend the herpstat basic...

as stated you can run more than one heat source off of one stat as long as they are identical and dont overload the stat

I agree. I use Herpstats now, but I have used a Hydrofarm in a pinch before. I still have it, actually. It sits on a shelf in gathering dust, but I will keep it just in case. It is better than nothing and I wouldn't use one full time, but if someone is on a temporary budget, it is far better than an unregulated heat source. My biggest issue with most on/off style thermostats like the Hydrofarm is that they usually aren't very accurate. The Hydrofarm I used would keep temps in the safe zone, but that was it. It was +/- 3 degrees each way and the set temp and actual temps weren't accurate, so a lot of tweaking went into it.

So yeah, basically you can't beat a good ole Herpstat or Helix for long term use and reliability.

X2 I have this one and for a single set up its pretty awesome, for the price anyway. But the issue is it doesn't variate power, it just shuts off and comes back on rather than limiting the power going to your heatpad.
