    What would you get?

I've been planning for a while to get a pastel pied male for my pastel yellow belly 50% het pied to prove her out but I am starting to wonder if I should pick up a different pied male to add a different gene for a longer term project. My pastel yellow belly is the only possible/het pied I have. I was original going to take the long shot and pray for a super pastel yellow belly pied but now I'm starting to think that could be come a long term project. What would you do? I do know I want a visual pied with something extra going on, I don't want to produce possible hets.

You could get a pied, het pied, or find a different dom/co-dom that is het pied to breed with her. I think it would be fun to get a yellowbelly het pied to try for supers and pieds, or a spider het pied. It's all up to you and what you want, but those two snakes are what I would get because that would be an insane breeding combo!

I think you should go for a het to poss het pairing. Visuals are so expensive, and with your female you still have a chance to make something insane. The extra money you save with you could get some more het females to pair him with also.

The spider het pied has merit to it, but I'm afraid with the yellowbelly het pied I could produce an ivory pied and I wouldn't be able to tell it apart from an ivory. I will need to think about the spider het pied, possibly producing a bumble belly pied could be fun, but I would probably get a spied if I went that route.

I want to get a visual because it would further any project I want to work on faster. If I get a pastel pied I could breed it to my pewter female and produce cinnies het pied, pewters het pied and sterlings het pied which would be cool and I would know for sure any female I held back would be 100% het pied. I don't mind investing in an expensive snake if it fits into my projects, especially if it's a great male. I don't really have any powerhouse males in my collection right now and a co-dom/dom pied male would be a great start.

Very true that sounds like a great plan though! Cant wait to heir and see your final decision! The sterling pieds are probably going to look insane! I hope they turn out like the killer pied with more broken up silver saddles

What's your budget? There are so many __ Het pieds it's hard to pick one for you with out knowing your budget.
If you budget iswhat I would say)
Less than 1k: mojave het pied, spider het pied, cinn het pied,
If your willing to spend more than 1k I would get a visual morph pied male, no poss hets in you pairings, it will jump start your project. You could produce a lot off different stuff if your female proves out.
I'm in the same boat(just opposite) I have a male pied and trying to find something good to pair him with in the future to jump start my breeding projects.

I think I'm leaning towards the pastel pied again, but we'll see. My female won't be ready to breed until probably next fall at the earliest. She's a 2010 who is set at growing at her own pace, she's probably only about 900-1000g if not less (I can't find my scale atm ), so I have time to change my mind some more. Aiming for sterling pieds would be a great project though.

I don't really have a set budget, I am willing to save until I have enough for whatever I want and my female will need about another year before she is big enough and old enough to breed anyways. I had been planning to drop around 2k on a pastel pied.

If you have a visual male, co-dom/dom het females might be the way to go (depending on what you are willing to spend) or you could make your own hets and raise up the females.
