please help
i bought a champagne ball python 3 weeks ago from a vender at a reptile show, it wasnt eating and got very skinny with like wrinkly skin. so i decided to assist feed it last night, it took me 3 tries but finally it took the rat pink. so this morning i checked on her and and she was fine. now at night i checked on her and her mouth is open and she has a horrible head wobble, i have 3 spiders and a jag carpet python, all with head wobble. but this wobble is way worse. shes never had this problem before and its freaking me out, im not sure what to do. last time i went to a vet for my snake they said they wernt very experienced with snakes... im trying to find a vet that can help but its very hard, so till i can find one if someone could please help guide me in the right direction it would mean a lot to me. i have her on aspen, with a water bowl and a toilet paper roll as a hide. shes around 60+/- grams. temps are 89 inside but today got very humid because of the storm. if someone could help me i would greatly appreciate it.

Sounds like she might have something going on neurologically by the description of the head wobble. Is she showing any symptoms of an RI?
Please make sure this snake is quarantined from the rest of your animals in case it is contagious.
Did you purchase the snake knowing that it wasn't eating? I would contact the breeder.

Re: please help
ya i just moved her to another room. she was in a seperate rack then all the other snakes but just to be safe i moved her. i havnt contacted the seller because i didnt know if its my fault or what or if she needed time getting settled in. as far as RI im not sure, she doesnt make a weezing sound or have any saliva coming out. also do you think i should put a heat mat under the tub, because where i moved her its not 89 in the room. do you think it coulda been a heat issue? where i live it gets very hot, but if that was the case my other snakes wouldve had problems too, no?

I know sometimes they can show neurological problems like that if there is a temp spike. I'm not sure if its the same if the temps are too low. Someone else may have to chime in here.
I'd be interested in knowing what the breeder has to say.
Is she still exhibiting the wobbling behaviour?

Do you have the room where she was in at 90 degrees ambient all the time? That seems really hot to me IMO.

I thought that the head wobble can come to the surface at any time. Like when they get excited like feeding time

Could it be possible that by assist feeding, you stressed her/him out?

As far as I know, champagnes do not have the wobble, it's only spiders for the most part.
What you are doing sounds good. There isn't much else you can do other than see a vet. :/
Could you perhaps get a short video of her behavior?

I would also be interested to see a video. In the meantime leave her alone. She is very stressed the best thing to do is leave her be for a while.
