New Granite Burmese
So in honor of all the expansion my collection is going through and with new projects underway. I went to an exotic shop that a guy I know runs about 3 hours from me. About 2 months ago, his burmese eggs hatched and he had 2 Granites left. The pairing was a Granite Het Albino, to a double het 50% dwarf, so here is the new guy my 25% Dwarf Granite 66% Het Albino Burmese Python.

The female of this clutch was an absolute knock out Granite. This one has about 1 or 2 spots where it looks like an eraser hit it, so it did deem the name of "smudges" :-)

I don't think you can assign dwarfism a percentage since I don't believe it's a simple genetic trait, but other then that I think that's a great looking granite.

Re: New Granite Burmese
My understanding of Dawf genetics in Burmese Pythons come from an understand of it being as a polygenic trait. When you breed a full out dwarf to a normal, you do get 50% dwarf offspring, that is to say they will be some where between normal size and dwarf. If you then breed that to a normal, you again fall 50% between the two extremes. Which would be 25% reduction of the original size constraints. This clutch hatched out at half the weight of normal burmese hatchlings which concurs the dwarf "blood" is present. . . But either thing aside, 8ft or 14ft he is going to be the star of my presentations in a year or so :-)
