    Your first reptile?

I'm wanting to know what was your first reptile, whether it be as a kid, or now. Please include pictures if you can! I would post mine but he's in shed, a Ball Python!

When I was just a wee little munchkin, my mom let me "adopt" about 50 tadpoles from the rain ponds in our back yard. I was afraid because they were in little rain ponds, they wouldn't make it when they dried up. So I raised them in an aquarium in my room. I raised them to frogs, and released them. Too bad neither of us realized I was raising and helping an invasive species (cuban tree frog)...my mom still has this species all over her house to this day. Probably great great grand babies of my group (they like to hang out by her front door) Woopsie

My first Reptile was my Leo, Gaia. I got her in January I believe. My Fiance had a baby Bearded Dragon when we first met though and I loved him!

This was her when I first got her.

Oh wait, I lied, LOL. When I was much younger me and my brothers hatched a Salamander from an egg and raised it until it was an adult and kept it in a fish bowl, then released it. I know, horrible, but we knew nothing about the care of the little guys!

    Loving these threads today!

Got my first reptile back at a Reptile show in September. Well, immediately after, but I met the breeder and his stock at the show. But I went home to get a proper enclosure set up first Then went and picked up a gorgeous little Crestie that nobody wanted! He was 'plain'. A buckskin with only a handful of dalmation spots. But I loved the little guy!

Took him home and he was SO tiny! My boyfriend and I were smitten. He stayed with my boyfriend originally, on his nightstand at home.

Now Cashew has grown into a big boy, and still has more growing to do. And those few dalmation spots? Well, I'd hoped they would turn out to be more than just a few. And I was right. He now has over 150 spots all over his body! I've had more offers on him than you could believe. But, I got him for a steal, because everyone just saw a 'plain little gecko'.

First night home (boyfriend holding him):

    And now:

My first reptile is my leopard gecko El Scorcho. My dad, sister, and I snuck her in with a full setup because we knew my mom wouldn't let us get a reptile. We kept her in the closet and evenually told her and moved her to a dresser. She has a tub and four babies now, and loves watching me clean cages.

Her a month or two after we got her

Her like five minutes ago. Crappy phone pic, and she's going to shed soon

I spent much of my childhood in southern california catching all sorts of wild critters, and my biological father had some snakes, but none of them were mine. MY first herp was a Rosehair tarantula named Nixon, which I didn't get until after highschool. First reptile was a tiny little anery cornsnake, that soon escaped his locked/weighted aquarium, never to be found again.
