Zoomed rheostat
Does anyone use these? I bought two of them and hooked one up to a lamp to see what it would do and it didn't visibly dim the bulb at all... I'm I misunderstanding how these are suppose to work?

I have one and it works great, yours might be defective as some products are, and i can visually see it dimming what ever i hook into it.

It was just a 60w light bulb in the lamp on my nightstand. I had a heat pad that was running unregulated (no animals in the set up, the pad came from a friend and I wanted to make sure it wasn't going to melt or anything) and it worked to turn the electricity down to it and lowered the temp. I think the second outlet on the unit is faulty and thats why it didn't dim the bulb but that's ok =P I only need one haha
Thanks guys!

Nice, so i am not the only one thinking of using my rheostat to control the fan speed in my incubator as well. Glad to hear that it works!
