    Relocation effects on BPs

I have a rescue ball python. I got her about 3 weeks ago. She's eaten three times for me (every five days) and is gaining weight nicely. When I got her, she was very thin, dehydrated, and had a retained shed. She's eating and drinking better than I hoped so I'm hoping she'll shed soon (I actually she might be going into shed. I think I saw a pink belly when she ate her dinner tonight) so we can get this skin out of the way.

Anyway, that was off topic. I am moving on Saturday. Any experience about how moves affect BPs? Since she's so frail, I worry that it might be overly stressful on her. However, there's no way I can avoid moving. Any tips to make this as least stress as possible on her?

It will be slightly stressful but you can make the move easier for her. Put her in a snake bag and then but the bag in a small tub to secure her while you are moving. Try to keep her setup exactly the same as it was before. Other then that, there isn't much else you can do. She should be fine though. How far are you moving?

    Re: Relocation effects on BPs

I moving to a temporary home (my friend's house) for about 2 weeks (unfortunately I have to move because my apartment lease is up and I don't finish my summer classes until middle of August) and then I'm moving about 2 hours away from my temp location to my new home. So not too far. Her cage is coming with me until I can get my rack set up, so it will remain the same until after I get settled in my new house and finish up the rack system.

As long as she's in a snug carrier so she can feel safe and she's kept at a comfortable temp, she should be fine.

Thanks for the input! I don't really have a snake bag, but how would a pillow case do? It's 100% cotton so it's breathable.
